Dental Crown

A dental crown is a cap or cover that we put over damaged teeth to restore them to their original size, shape and function. Crowns are designed to blend into your teeth seamlessly.

Bridge

A dental bridge is used to fill in any gaps from missing teeth. A false tooth or row of teeth is fitted between two dental crowns and placed on existing teeth or dental implants. The bridge sits on top of the gums and fills in any gaps.

How to know if you need a crown or bridge?

Crowns and bridges are used to restore or replace damaged or missing teeth. Crowns are usually used to repair or fix damaged and fractured teeth, weakened and decayed teeth, severely discoloured teeth, misshapen teeth or as an anchor to a dental bridge. Bridges, on the other hand, are used to replace a missing tooth or teeth.

However, the only way to know is to come into Maidstone Dental for a dental check-up. Our lovely team will assess your teeth and let you know the best option for you.

BEFORE & AFTER

How to take care of your new crown and bridge?

With proper care, your brand-new crown or bridge can last up to 15 years before they need replacing.

1.@2x

Effective oral hygiene routine

Similar to natural teeth, your crowns and bridges also need to be brushed and flossed at least twice a day and sugary treats should be avoided. Maintaining a healthy oral hygiene routine can prevent decay underneath the crown or on remaining healthy teeth.

2.@2x

Don’t misuse our teeth to prevent further damage to both the natural teeth and the crown.

Don’t chew on hard things that can crack your teeth, such as pen lids, pens or ice.

Regular dental check-ups

It’s also essential that problems can be detected early and corrected before they become a more significant issue. Regular dental check-ups can do this.

Dr. Marcus is fantastic. He is kind, calm and extremely gentle with my teeth, I couldn’t recommend him more for someone who is scared of the pain associated with dental appointments. The clinic is a bit on the pricey side but it’s worth it for the service. And a TV on the roof is cool too lol.

Dr Tu Anh Pham is the best dentist I have ever had. She explains things well and makes sure you know what is happening throughout your appointment. She is also the gentlest dentist I have ever been to! I highly recommend her - especially for people who don’t like going to the dentist!

I had Marcus for the first time as my dentist and he was so nice and calm. He voice is so soothing and knows what he is doing. He listens and understands the customers needs and has a excellent helper on the side! Vanessa was also a brilliant lady, helping Marcus with cleaning and assisting the mouth. Lovely experience for the first time too and will definitely come back for a check-up again in a few months.
