What is bruxism?

Bruxism is involuntary grinding, clenching or gnashing of teeth, often during sleep (but not always). For most people, around

50% of the population, grinding or clenching during their sleep happens from time to time. However, for 1 in 20 people,

forceful grinding is a common occurrence that drastically damages their teeth.

It can be challenging to identify a teeth-grinding issue before it damages teeth, particularly if it occurs when you sleep. If

you’re waking up with aching jaws and headaches, or your loved one has heard you grinding in your sleep, book an

appointment with Maidstone Dental today.
